Dr. Tutera was born in Rome, Italy and grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and received his medical training at the University of Missouri. He became Chief resident at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri in 1974. Over the years, while in private practice, he was devoted to assisting patients regain their hormonal vigor. At the forefront of his peers, Dr. Tutera opened his first clinic devoted to hormonal replacement in 1982.

In 1992, Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California recruited Dr. Tutera to establish the Hanson Birthing Center. He served as Medical Director of the center as well as owned his own practice for many years. Dr. Tutera founded SottoPelle® in Palm Desert, California in 1992 and has opened multiple locations in Arizona and across the U.S. His efforts continue to change the lives of thousands of men and women across the country who suffers from hormone deficiencies.
